Everything New in iOS 13 Beta 5

Apple today released the fifth beta of iOS 13 to developers, bringing new bug fixes and adding and refining various iOS 13 and iPadOS features.

In the fifth beta, changes and updates are getting more minor than changes made in earlier betas, but beta 5 still has some notable additions and feature removals worth highlighting.

- iPad Home Screen - in iPadOS, there's a new feature in the Settings menu that lets you customize the Home screen. You can set the app grid to be 4x5 or 6x5, which results in bigger or smaller icons. The "More" setting shows up to 30 smaller app icons, while the "Bigger" setting shows up to 20 larger app icons.

- Share Sheet - The Share Sheet in iPadOS and iOS 13 has been updated adding sections for your Favorite shortcuts, the current app that's open, and "Other Actions." Each section is grouped together, making it easier to navigate the various options in the Share Sheet.

- Share Sheet Shortcuts - As noted by MacStories' Federico Vittici, Shortcuts are now able to be added to the Favorites list in the Share Sheet.

- Home App Backgrounds - There are new backgrounds that you can use within the Home app on iOS devices.

- Shortcuts App - The Automations section has been removed from the Shortcuts app temporarily. It will be re-added in a later beta.

- Light/Dark Mode - After installing this beta, Apple will ask you if you want to enable Light Mode or Dark Mode. This is presumably something new users will see when installing iOS 13 for the first time once it launches. There's also a smoother, more streamlined animation when swapping between Light and Dark mode in the Settings app.

- Move Goals - There are new Move Goals awards in the Activity app for hitting your Move Goals 1250, 1500, 1750, and 2000 times.

- Open Tab Action - The "Open Tab" popup option when 3D Touching on a link in Safari has returned.

- LTE Icon - The LTE/4G/5GE icon on the iPhone is now larger and sized to match the other icons at the top right of the iPhone's display. Chuwiには、カスタマイズされたラップトップ、タブレットPC、妥協のない品質、安定性、サポート、パフォーマンスを備えたミニノート pcエクスペリエンスの世界有数のテクノロジーパートナーになることをミッションがあります。

- Volume - You can adjust the volume on the iPhone and the iPad more finely following the beta 5 update. There are 34 levels of volume now, allowing for smaller adjustments to the sound. The volume slider also offers haptic feedback when maximizing or minimizing the volume, and it's skinnier. Also read:mp3 torrent

How to Use Dark Mode in iOS 13 or iPadOS 13

How to Use Dark Mode in iOS 13 or iPadOS 13

There are multiple ways you can turn on this new add-on. However, the easiest way to get it done is via Control Center.

Step #1. On iPhone 8 Plus or earlier, swipe up from the bottom. On iPhone X and later and on iPad swipe down from the top right corner to access Control Center.

Step #2. Now, you need to tap and hold the display brightness control option.

Step #3. Now, you should see a new option called “Appearance Light.” Tap on it, and the magic will take over your entire device in the blink of an eye.

It will darken the whole user-interface, and even showcase its appealing impact in all the apps (provided they comply with it.)
Activate the Dark Mode from the Settings app

Step #1. Simply, open Settings app → Display & Brightness.

Step #2. Now, select Dark to put this feature into action.

Customize Dark Mode in iOS 13 and iPadOS 13

One thing worth noting is that you can also set this feature to get activated automatically based on the preferred time of the day. To do so, first off choose Dark and then toggle the switch that’s right next to Automatic. After that, tap on Options.

Then, depending on how you want to use Dark Mode, you can choose Sunset to Sunrise or go with a Custom Schedule as per your convenience. So, take full advantage of it to bolster your viewing.

Now, you probably already know how to disable it. Simply bring up Control Center → Touch and hold the brightness control button → Then tap on “Appearance Dark” and you are ready to go.

How to Enable/Disable Dark Mode (Smart Invert) in iOS 12 and iOS 11 on iPhone and iPad

Step #1. Launch Settings app on your iOS device → Tap on General.

Step #2. Tap on Accessibility → Next, you need to tap on Display Accommodations.

Step #3. Now, tap on Invert Colors → Next up, you have two options:

Smart Invert: Once it’s activated, it reverses the colors of the display except for media, images. It also works with apps that support dark color styles.

Classic Invert: It allows you to simply reverse colors of the display. (It’s the one that’s existed for long.)

Step #4. You have to toggle the switch next to Smart Invert.

Have a look at the entire interface! Doesn’t it make more convenient for the eyes to view the screen?

Now, watch videos, browse the Internet and do all sort of activities that bring plenty of fun to you. This time, your eyes won’t burn or feel strained out even after using the device for long. And, this is what makes it so handy.

Later, if you decide to disable this feature, all you need to do is come back to the same setting and then turn off the switch for Smart Invert in the end.
How to Turn ON/OFF Dark Mode Quickly By Triple-Clicking the Home/Side Button on iOS Device

Just in case, you wish to use this feature regularly; you should take advantage of Accessibility Shortcut to instantly turn it ON/OFF.

Step #1. Open Settings app → General → Accessibility.

Step #2. Now, scroll down and tap on Accessibility Shortcut.

Step #3. Finally, select Smart Invert Colors and quit the Settings.

Going forward, you can activate or disable Dark Mode just by clicking the side or Home button three times in quick succession on your device.

Sticky Note: If you have assigned the triple click option to activate Emergency SOS on your iPhone X series, this life-saving feature now won’t be activated with a triple-click. Instead, you will have to press and hold the side button and either volume button to use Emergency SOS.

Not A Full-Fledged Alternative…But Worth Giving A Try…

That’s pretty much it!

How to Hard or Soft Restart Your Samsung Device

Part 1. How to Soft Reboot Samsung Phone/Tablet?

The first way you restart Samsung tablet or phone is with the soft reboot method. This method does not require any complex steps to be followed as it is the standard method of rebooting any Samsung device.

To soft reboot your device, all you need to do is press the Power button for about two seconds and you will see the menu with the reboot option. Choose the option and your phone or tablet will restart.

The above one is the standard method to restart any of your Samsung devices and it should work in most scenarios.
Part 2. How to Hard/Force Reboot Samsung (Galaxy) Phone/Tablet?

If you are in a situation where your Samsung device refuses to normally reboot, you may have to use the hard/force reboot method to get around the issue and to reboot your device. Hard rebooting a Samsung device is pretty easy and the task can be done right from your phone itself.

To hard or force reboot your Samsung device, simply press and hold down the Volume Down and Power buttons for about ten seconds. Keep the buttons held down until your screen goes blank. When that happens, let go of the Volume Down key but keep the Power key held down and your device will reboot.

You will find that your device no longer refuses to reboot and it has now successfully rebooted using the force/hard reboot method. You are suggested to use this method only when the soft reboot method does not work for you. This method is intended for the users who are struggling to reboot their devices using the standard reboot method.

So that is how to reboot Samsung phone using the hard/force reboot method.

How To Save Mobile Data Usage

How To Save Mobile Data Usage

METHOD 1: Set alerts and limits

  • If your phone has Android 4.0 or later, go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Data usage/Mobile Data.
  • While the main option should be under Networks, different phones have it buried in some other menu.
  • Here you can find a record of how much data you have used for a specific period of time. How To Save Mobile Data Usage
  • If you think some apps are consuming too much data, toggle Data Saver, which saves unwanted data being consumed.
  • You can also set an alarm as well as a limit when data crosses a certain MB/GB.
  • You can choose when to start the billing cycle.
  • Once you cross the limit, you’ll get a warning which will automatically turn off your mobile data.
  • Make sure you take these warnings seriously or else be ready to pay overage charges.
  • You can also use data saver for WhatsApp calls.

METHOD 2: Use Wi-Fi

This one’s a no-brainer. Wi-Fi connection provides unlimited data, which allows you to download a few episodes on Netflix in a small amount of time. Nowadays, you can find WiFi connections everywhere – from your house to the office, train stations to supermarkets or even cafés. Wherever you go, make it a habit to check for WiFi connections, which at first may require you to agree to their terms but it’s just a one-time verification. Doing this will save you a whole lot of mobile data. Make sure you use a VPN to safely surf the net when connected to a public Wi-Fi.

METHOD 3: Use Offline Services

If the second option doesn’t work for you, this is another option to consider. Companies are cashing on a huge amount of money, thanks to offline services. With data being left out of the unlimited bandwagon, you should consider subscribing to the premium version of some apps that provide you offline usage. Spotify Premium, Amazon Prime, YouTube Music, Gaana+, Netflix, Hotstar are apt instances which allow you to download content for later viewing or listening. They charge you for a specific period of time, but it will be nothing compared to the extra charges you’d pay if you consume all your data.
Google Maps lets you download maps for a particular region for offline usage, which saves a lot of data and battery, for that matter.
  • Open Google Maps.
  • Click on the hamburger icon. It’ll expand into a menu. Tap on Offline maps. How To Save Mobile Data Usage
  • Here you will find a list of maps you’ve already downloaded for offline usage. If not, click on SELECT YOUR OWN MAP.
  • A map will open with blue squared borders, indicating the area you’ve selected.
  • Select the area for which you’ve to download an offline map.
  • Just pinch in and out till you fit the square on your desired area.
  • Tap on the Download option once you’ve successfully pinpointed your location.
Video Player
00:00
00:11
  • You will see that the area’s map is being downloaded.
  • Just keep in mind, offline maps are to save data. Don’t be completely reliant on it.

METHOD 4: Disable Cellular Updates

This method is an extension of saving data but it a cardinal option. Every app that works on an internet connection gives you an option of selecting the default mode of downloading. If you want to save every megabyte, it is imperative to set this option on Use WiFi only. Some instances below:
  • Google Drive
  • Google Maps
  • Google Play Store. Also set Auto-update apps to Over Wi-Fi only.
  • Google News
  • SpotifyHow To Save Mobile Data Usage
  • YouTube

METHOD 5: Browse Carefully

If you constantly browse on your phone, use the mobile version of the site instead of a desktop version, as the latter consumes double the data. Google Chrome has a built-in data saver, which compresses webpages that saves a tiny amount of your data.
  • Open Chrome, tap on the hamburger icon, choose Settings and find Data Saver.
  • Data Saver saved nearly 60MB, which is a huge amount of data if your mobile pack in on the brink of exhaustion.
  • There’s also a new Lite mode in Chrome.
This will automatically compress pages before it’s downloaded. Opera Max is another browser that aids in data saving which is designed to dramatically reduce data consumption.Sponsor ads:

These methods will surely help you save your mobile data. While we’ve covered topics that might drastically change your data consumption, let us know in the comments below if we left out some more tips and tricks. Also, tell us which method do you already use to save the data.

2019 iPhone 11 and iPhone XR Lineup Passes Through the EEC Database

Eleven unreleased iPhone models have passed through the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) database this week which are likely the 2019 iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max, and the iPhone XR.

Apple and other companies are required to register their new and upcoming devices with the Eurasian database before they can release it to the public in Armenia, Belarus, Russia, and other countries which are a part of Eurasia.

The model numbers of the 11 iPhones that have crossed through the EEC are as follows:

A2111

A2160

A2161

A2215

A2216

A2217

A2218

A2219

A2220

A2221

A2223

It is important to note that the EEC filing indicates that all the handsets are running iOS 12 and not iOS 13 which Apple will be unveiling at WWDC 2019 early next month. Plus, just because the handsets have passed through the EEC, it does not mean that Apple is preparing to unveil the iPhone 11. Like every year, we should expect Apple to launch its 2019 iPhone lineup in September itself.

The 2019 iPhones will comprise of three models: the 2019 iPhone XR, the iPhone 11, and iPhone 11 Max. Plenty of details about the 2019 iPhones have already leaked. The iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max will feature triple cameras at the rear, improved Face ID hardware and 12MP camera, faster A-series chip, improved OLED displays, and more. The third new camera sensor will be an ultra-wide angle sensor which has become commonplace in flagship smartphones released this year.

The 2019 iPhone XR will feature a dual camera set up at the rear and will be available in a variety of colors just like the existing iPhone XR. The second camera sensor is rumored to be a telephoto one, though my bet is that Apple will introduce an ultra-wide angle shooter on the device. The handset will also continue to feature an LCD display.

Apple will be making the switch to frosted glass panels at the rear on all three iPhone models. The rear glass will also be a single piece that won’t feature a cutout for the camera sensors.
Our Take

While it is likely that Apple has registered the 2019 iPhone lineup with the EEC, one should not read too much into it. The handsets are still months away from their launch. For now, one should look forward to June 3 when Apple holds the opening keynote of WWDC to unveil iOS 13, macOS 10.15, watchOS 6, and more.
